lyrics

i watch parking lots become alive
as they’re announcing a new season
shopping malls in artificial white
another early winter christmas sale
and papers are writing about an election
cases where politics have fairly failed unnoticed
and on the tramway- t-shirts that say seize the day and please spend a smile for me
in between doorways sounds of mobile phones compete with our short hellos
i find you reading, headphones in your ears
silently wondering about circumstances that once brought you here to stay
on the tramway- discussions about nursing homes and taxes going up each year
in between doorways sounds of mobile phones compete with some short
"hello, it’s been quite a while. did you watch the soccer game? yeah, i know the papers lie. but i’m ok."
yes i am ok
and as the day awaits the night, i’m glad i made it through another day
