We meet in some pub not far from my office
with a million good reasons not to drink alone
There they all smoke like chimneys
I order beer and some whisky
I call that a package and claim that's the way to go
It's not a special day
just the right time to drink some hours away
96 came and quickly went by
We're STB, Sick Of Silence and Teamrider's friends
We found black and white and believed it was colors
We won and we lost and we found confidence
It was not a special year
Just the right time to order some whisky and beer
And on the street people start to walk faster
'cause on the news they've been told to be afraid
You say that you're tired and bored of fighting this fight
and facts don't matter or count
So it's just me and I'll go on after another round

a short moment in time
They've got new names on their walls and new phones in their hands
On my way home I noticed new buildings and people using some words I can understand
One day we'll all have disappeared
Then there'll be someone else to have conversations over whisky and beer

A perfect morning view
the sun rising over the lake
They'd come here each year in summer
There are voices from next door
the smell of coffee from downstairs
and he lay there as if he was still asleep
It used to be them
now it's just her
She said one last time she needed to go there

How will things be when we return
We look at our phones instead of into our eyes
find new words for old things to make them less awkward
All around the globe the lights never seem to go out
in all these train stations that look like small cities

Then we come back home as a different person
Everything we knew suddenly lost its meaning as we went back to zero
